Sin Enters The Human Family

What were God's instructions to Adam in the Garden of Eden?
"And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, sying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
Genesis 2:15-17

But Adam and Eve disobeyed God…
"The serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her: and he did eat."
Genesis 3:4-6

What resulted from their disobedience?
"And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."
Genesis 3:22-24

How did sin affect the relationship between mankind and God?
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear."
Isaiah 59:2

What has been the result of Adam's sin upon all mankind?
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."
Romans 5:12

Besides Jesus, are there any other people who have never sinned?
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23

Can sinful human beings do anything to change their fallen condition?
"Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil."
Jeremiah 13:23

How do we obtain eternal life?
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 6:23

Note: Eternal life is a gift, but we must accept it.

How many people is God willing to save?

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."
2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)

Though God is love, He is also just. God does not overlook guilt…
"The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty."
Exodus 34:5-7

What plan did God devise to save sinful mankind?
"For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

Why did Jesus come to earth?
"To seek and to save that which was lost."
Luke 19:10

"He shall save his people from their sins."
Matthew 1:21

What did God the Father lay on Jesus as He hung upon the cross?
"All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
Isaiah 53:6

What do we have to do to receive God's grace?
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."
Ephesians 2:8

What did Paul tell the jailer to do in order to be saved?
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
Acts 16:31

When should we decide to receive the free gift of savation?
"Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."
2 Corinthians 6:2

As we accept Christ into our hearts, what assurance can we have?
"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."
1 John 5:12, 13
